Born and raised in Birmingham, I’m proud to call the Magic City my home. I’ve lived most of my life in the state of Alabama but some of my greatest memories will always be tied to my 6+ years in Connecticut. I met so many incredibly talented and fun people in the northeast – including my beautiful wife – and miss being able to drive to so many of this country’s great cities in just a few hours.
Much of my free time now is spent enjoying golf, sipping bourbon, trying different craft beers, playing with our adopted dog Maddie, and trying to learn something new. Of course, traveling is always high on the list if the budget allows. Europe always seems to top everywhere else because of the history and culture you can’t find in the States. My number one spot is hands-down a sunset dinner on a terrace in Cinque Terre enjoying wine, pasta, and fresh seafood.
If I’m watching television, it’s usually live sports or something related to sports. The only sport I truly haven’t paid close attention at some point in my life is rugby, and much of that can be credited to working in the international networks at ESPN (shoutout Pac Rim and E2 Caribbean).
Top five coolest sporting events I’ve witnessed: national championship game in the Rose Bowl, UEFA Champions League match at Old Trafford, the Rome Derby, a USA hockey match at the Vancouver Olympics, and a Yankees-Red Sox game at the old Yankee Stadium. If I can ever get to the Masters, that will immediately bump one of these off the list.
Those are the highlights. Hopefully you’ll get to know me a little bit more through the rest of the site.
