Last Friday night, No. 25 Auburn visited Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama in an important series for both programs in the 2018 season. The Tigers started pitcher Casey Mize who is widely regarded as the top pitching prospect in the upcoming MLB Draft and a possibility for the number one overall pick.
I got the opportunity to call the game for the SEC Network+ alongside Lance Cormier. To be able to broadcast a game in this rivalry with Mize on the mound was pretty amazing. There was going to be a lot of eyes on that matchup and the main network was planning to take our feed for live look-ins so we’d have an even larger audience at times.
Overall, I thought the game went well. There were some mistakes along the way but I’m pleased with the majority of the broadcast. There’s still work to do but it was just the third game (and second day) I’ve worked on-air for tv so I’m going to enjoy it for now.
If you’re interested, check out this short clip from the broadcast that is posted on SECSports.com.
Congrats Ben! Proud of you! Keep chasing that dream! Hope all is well!
